He is a biologist, master in arts and he followed a Ph.D. in Philosophy.

He has attended numerous courses about different branches of knowledge, including music education in the Conservatorio Superior de Música del Liceo (Barcelona). His youthful sport: competitive judo .

Fellow of GSA. GSA is a member of IFFPS, International Federation for Professional Speakers. As a worldwide speaker, he belongs to GSN (Global Speakers Network). He is also listed at the NSA (National Speakers Association of USA)

Founder and director of the CEB-ICH which aim is to educate and to inform about science as an explanation of the nature and of the history and interpretation of the whole universe; the big challenges of life and its environment; and the analysis of the implications and cultural and multicultural solutions, especially what refers to universal values.

As a result of that, he organizes and lectures in innumerable conferences, courses, seminars about science, environment and biotechnology, multiculturalism and values in all continents.

Prof. Lozano Winterhalder is fluent in ENGLISH, SPANISH, FRENCH, ITALIAN  and CATALAN.

"Univers and life" (What is life?)

In 1982 he visited the United States and contacted the distinguished Spanish biochemist Dr. Joan Oró, NASA's main researcher and Prof. of the Houston University. After that he joined the Institute of Fundamental Biology of the Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona as a researcher.

 

He became a member of the Societat Catalana de Biologia and of the Agrupación Astronómica de Sabadell and he collaborate with the Spanish Astrobiological Centre, member of the Astrobiological Program (NASA).

 

In 2003, he was invited by the National Science Foundation (University of Cornell) to attend the stage about “Communicating Astronomy” in Arecibo’s Observatory (Puerto Rico).After that, it turned up Puerto Rico’s Declaration urging Latin-American governments to foster Science communication, especially Astronomy.

 

Programmes in this area are dedicated to the general public. My objective is only to help it to discover the mysteries of the cosmos and what life means in it.

Subject 2 - Environment

"The future of life" (Life is in danger-The environmental crisis)

Currently he is Professor of Environment at ESADE* Business School (Ramon Llull University of Barcelona) and Professor of Environmental Ethics at Borja Institut of Bioethics, at the same University. 

*Second classified on Aspen Institutes ranking for its environmental responsibility. 

He taught in the Environmental Engineering Master and led the postgraduate course for Specialists in Environmental Education.

 

He also collaborates with different Spanish Universities (UB, UdG,UdL,UPC...) as well as with numerous international ones  (MIT, North Texas University… –USA-; Senda Darwin, Omora Park, Ateneo de Ponce and University of Ponce… –Latin-American- and Cemus (Sweden), Perugia (Italy), Sorbonne, Perpignan (France)… –Europe- ).

He belongs to the International Society for Environmental Ethics.

 

He was a member of the Board at the Spanish United Nations Association, coordinating a lot of courses (Climatic Change, Economy and Ecology, Biodiversity…)

In this period, he participated as a worldwide observer in the Rio+5 (New York, 97) revision of agreements and in a lot of international conferences and/or exhibitions.

He is a member of the UNESCO’s Club in Barcelona where he acted as Secretary-General for a time. He has also participated in the creation of a macro project within the 2004 Forum of Cultures organised by Unesco and to be held in Barcelona.

He became a member of the African Studies Centre in Barcelona and he was in contact with the Asia Society in New York.

He is a fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, being a member of the "Arts and Ecology" working group.
